INTRODUCING BELLA'S FAMILY

We thought it would be a good idea to tell you a little about Bella's family. Hi we are Cathy (40), Greg (43), Imogen (7 years) and Annabelle (Bella 5 soon).

We live in Aspley, Brisbane Australia. Greg and I have been married for 9 years and have known each other for 23. Greg works for GWF as a Shift Electrician and Cathy works part time for Qantas Airlines where I have been for 17 years. Bella and Imogen have two sets of grandparents, three Aunties, three uncles and 6 cousins ranging in ages from 4 to 18 years. Greg has one older brother, I have a younger sister and brother. My family live in Sydney, as well as Greg's brother. Whilst Greg's Mum and Step-father live on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.

Imogen is in grade two at our local primary school, and Bella attends Geebung Special school one day a week, a local kindergarten another, and on the other days attends a variety of therapies and early intervention programmes.

The past 5 years has been a rollercoaster of emotions for our family. Bella has gone from a little baby with High Complex Medical needs, with delays in all ares of her development. To a big girl with a big smile who will begin school next year. She stil requires lots of support and therapy to achieve goals and milestones, that typically developing children just pick up!

The ongoing cost of therapy and early intervention is enormous. The Australian government gives very little to children who do not fit into certain categories of disability. We hope you enjoy hearing and learning about Bella.Thank you for helping us bring awareness locally and globally of all children with a disability with no known diagnosis.

This was written by Cathy - Bella's Mum.

Love and hugs,
Linda.
